Machinery exhibition stand design in India. The machine has to run

An industrial exhibition stand builder for engineering, machinery, steel and welding brands. Floor loading, forklift sequencing, running demonstrations and safety separation — the constraints that decide an engineering exhibition stand before anyone discusses graphics.

Industrial exhibition stand design starts from one fact: industrial buyers do not evaluate machinery from a photograph or a specification sheet they could have read at their desk. They came to see it operate, hear how it sounds under load, look at the finish quality it produces and ask an engineer a question while it runs.

That single requirement drives everything else on the stand. A running machine needs clearance, a power supply that will not trip, safety separation from visitors, and often extraction or noise consideration that the venue has to approve.

Engineering and machinery exhibition stand build

(Build constraints) you putting

the stand

Some clients want a concept to take to their board. Some want the stall standing in Dubai without another phone call. Tell us where you are and see what we would take on.

Indicative planning figures. Your venue’s floor loading limit and demonstration rules are always the authority.

(Build requirements) Six things

stand need

These come up on engineering and machinery projects. Several overlap with our pump work, which is where most of this experience comes from.

01
Exhibition stand floor loading machinery calculations

Venues publish a limit in kN/m², and heavy machines concentrate load locally rather than spreading it. A press within the stand average can still exceed the limit under its own base, so the calculation is done per exhibit rather than per stand.

Send weights and base dimensions for your three heaviest machines at briefing.
02
Forklift access sequenced into the build

Machines are positioned by forklift during build-up, which needs a route in and clear headroom at the moment they arrive. On a stand built walls-first that route no longer exists.

We sequence the build so machines land before the structure closes around them.
03
Power sized for start-up, not running

Motors draw substantially more on start-up than in steady operation, and a power order sized for running load trips the stand every time a demonstration begins.

Give us motor ratings, not running consumption. It changes the organiser power order.
04
Safety separation and barriers

Moving parts, hot surfaces and swarf need visitors kept at a distance. Barriers, guarding and floor marking are designed as part of the stand rather than added on site as an afterthought.

Venue safety officers inspect this. Designing it in looks considerably better than taping it.
05
Noise, fume and extraction

Running machinery generates noise and sometimes fume, and both are regulated. Several halls set decibel limits and restrict hot work entirely, so what can be demonstrated is confirmed before design.

Tell us what you want to run and we will check the hall's rules first.
06
Sectioned assemblies

A machine or heat exchanger is opaque. Cutting one open to show internal construction, material grades and tolerances answers the question a technical buyer actually came with.

If you have a sectioned unit, give it a lit central position rather than a corner.

Metal Expo

One project in detail, AR Group of Industries · 48 sqm · Metal Expo, St. Petersburg

The brief

A steel mill equipment manufacturer at a metals show in St. Petersburg, where the audience is plant engineers and procurement teams rather than general trade visitors.

The constraint

Steel mill equipment cannot be brought to a show. The product exists at a scale no exhibition hall can accommodate, which means the stand has to sell something the visitor cannot see.

What we did

The stand was built around installed-plant imagery at scale, with a suspended banner giving visibility across a hall of similar exhibitors, and screens carrying process footage. Meeting capacity was prioritised over display, because at this show the conversation is the transaction — nobody specifies mill equipment from a stand.

The principle

Where the product cannot travel, floor that would have held exhibits goes to meeting space instead. That is a different design brief from a machinery stand and should be recognised as one.

(experience)Three mistakes

exhibition stands

A stand contractor is easy to judge on one job. These clients judged us and booked the next one — across different countries, venues and build regulations

01
Power ordered against running load

Motors draw far more on start-up than in operation. A power order sized for steady running trips the stand every time a demonstration begins, usually in front of the buyer it was meant to impress.

02
Machine weights confirmed after layout approval

Plinth positions and the forklift route are decided by the heaviest exhibits. Adding a machine after the design is signed off means re-engineering rather than adjusting.

03
Everything displayed intact

A machine is a metal box from the outside. One sectioned assembly, lit and centrally placed, answers more technical questions than a row of complete units.
